Google has blocked the accounts of the IC of Belarus
Google has blocked the account and the YouTube channel of the Belarusian Investigative Committee due to the United States imposed against Belarus. About it informs “Mediazona.Belarus” (the publisher of the Russian “Mediazona” is included in the register of media “foreign agents”).
“Google account has been disabled in accordance with our export restrictions and sanctions policies,” the company said in a statement by the Investigative Committee. When you try to open the UK YouTube channel, a message appears that the account has been blocked for violating the YouTube community rules.
Official Belarusian agency BelTA with reference to the representative of the department Yulia Goncharova informsthat the channel was verified and had 23 thousand subscribers. In its social media accounts, the Belarusian Investigative Committee regularly reports, among other things, about new criminal cases against opposition representatives, activists and journalists, accused of various protests against the regime of Alexander Lukashenko.
Earlier, in connection with the American sanctions, in particular, the instagram accounts of the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov and a number of officials of Chechnya and the annexed Crimea were blocked. Information resources were also blocked. At the same time, we are talking more about pinpoint blocking – not all accounts are blocked, they are included in the sanctions lists, and not in all social networks under US jurisdiction.
