lacking playing time, Matsima would like to leave Monaco
Very little used since the start of the season, Chrislain Matsima is thinking of leaving AS Monaco. According to our information, negotiations are underway with German clubs. The Principality’s club would like to lend their 19-year-old defender, but prefer a transfer.
Chrislain Matsima could leave Monaco in the next winter transfer window due to his poor playing time. The 19-year-old central defender, under contract until 2025, has only made two appearances this season.

With his entry into play in Troyes (1-2) on August 29 and his tenure against OM (0-2) on September 11, he played only 59 minutes (he was replaced at half-time against in Marseille). Not enough to satisfy the native of Colombes (Hauts-de-Seine), trained at ASM. Negotiations with German clubs are underway.
Monaco are okay with loaning him out, but Matsima and his entourage prefer a transfer as the young player does not fit Niko Kovac’s plans. Since his professional debut in September 2020, the 1.93m colossus has only appeared 13 times in the red and white jersey (in all competitions).
Matsima was not called by Kovac during the last two days of Ligue 1. Her last presence in the Monegasque group dates back to October 21, during the trip to PSV Eindhoven in the Europa League (2-1). But the young player had remained on the bench in the Netherlands. ASM will meet up with the Dutch club this Thursday at Louis II (6:45 p.m.), before going to Reims on Sunday in Ligue 1 (3 p.m.).
