Corona cases are skyrocketing again
In Switzerland and Liechtenstein, the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) received 4541 new coronavirus infections within 72 hours on Monday. At the same time, the FOPH registered 15 new clinics and 76 hospital admissions.
A week ago, 3297 new coronavirus infections were reported within 72 hours. There were also 15 new facilities and 49 hospital admissions.
For every 100,000 inhabitants, 226.37 laboratory-confirmed coronavirus infections were reported in the last two weeks. The reproduction number R, which indicates how many people an infected person infects on average, was 1.24 around ten days ago.
Intensive occupancy rate at 71.2 percent
The occupancy rate of the intensive care units in the hospitals is currently 71.2 percent. 12.1 percent of the available beds are occupied by Covid-19 patients.
As a logistics center, the army pharmacy had received a total of 13,297,425 vaccination doses by last Friday. Of these, 11,126,460 doses were administered. 63.72 percent of the population were fully vaccinated on Monday morning. So far, 7,089,586 certificates have been issued for fully vaccinated persons.
In the last 72 hours, 69,537 new corona tests were reported to the BAG. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 11,718,380 tests for Sars-CoV-2, the causative agent of the respiratory disease Covid-19, have been carried out in Switzerland and Liechtenstein, as the BAG further announced. There were a total of 877,095 work-confirmed cases of infection with the coronavirus.
Rise to 10,875
33,788 people who have so far been treated in hospital for Covid 19 disease. The number of cases in connection with Covid 19 disease is believed to be 10,875.
Based on the contact tracing data according to the BAG, 10,173 people in isolation and 7,435 in quarantine.
