Venice: cast-in benches. The Court of Auditors opens an investigation – Chronicle
In this specific case, the situation is rather complicated: the agreement for the delivery of the desks was made by a different manager, the desks did not arrive in time for the start of the school year, causing several inconveniences. Then there were the doubts about the functionality and compliance with fire regulations. Now, after months of inactivity, the decision to dispose of them. In the tangle of accusations and counter-accusations, the prosecutor of the Court of the Counts of Venice, Paolo Evangelista, confirms that he has already moved, after what appeared in the media: the case of the Benedetti benches an investigation has been opened, considering that it is a situation of waste of public money. It is not the only investigation underway, because another concerns a similar story in the Padua area.
Investigations will now be carried out to reconstruct the entire process followed for the supply that led to a cost that proved useless and therefore ultimately a damage to public financial resources.
