DB Schenker Portugal earned 60 million euros in 2020 – O Jornal Económico
DB Schenker is the armed wing of the German multinational Deutsche Bahn for the logistics sector and has been present in Portugal for half a century. In an exclusive interview to Jornal Económico, António Paulo, administrator of DB Schenker Portugal, reveals that the company ended last year with a turnover of 60 million euros, forecasts a record year in the financial chapter for 2021 and defends the review of the current tax burden on prices, which burdens domestic companies.
How has DB Schenker’s activity evolved in recent years in Portugal?
DB Schenker is the leading supply chain management and logistics company, backed by industry and commerce for global product exchange. It is currently present in over 130 countries, with a network of over 2,100 offices and a team of 74,200 people. In Portugal, we have more than 400 professionals. As part of the Deutsche Bahn (DB) Group, with nearly 150 years of history, DB Schenker offers solutions for international road, air and sea transport, contract logistics and supply chain management. Worldwide, in 2019, DB Schenker had revenues above 17 million euros. In Portugal, revenues were over 60 million euros last year. Today, it is Europe’s leading land transport company, No. 3 in sea and air freight worldwide and No. 5 in contract logistics worldwide.
