Celebrating people from the region in Salzburg beaten up – not the first attack of this kind
During the nightly celebrations in Salzburg, five young people from Lower Bavaria were attacked and injured by a group of young people over the weekend. It is not the first attack of this kind on Bavarian revelers in the city.
According to the police, the attack happened on Saturday morning near the bus stop on Mirabellplatz – near the world-famous Mirabell Gardens. The five victims between the ages of 19 and 21 come from the Freyung-Grafenau district and were to leave Salzburg.
With fists and belt buckles
Witnesses report that a group of youths for no reason began beating the celebrants with their fists and belt buckles on trouser straps. Four men were injured, one had to be taken to the accident hospital. A passing police patrol met a man who was bleeding profusely in the face, which prompted the investigation to be initiated – so far without result.
It was not until the beginning of June that twelve vacationers from the Pfaffenhofen district were beaten up by a group of young people on the Salzach and attacked with fist blows, seven Germans were injured at the time.
