“There will be no Lukashenka – Belarus will die”. Why do some sincerely believe this?
Recently, in his public speeches, Alexander Lukashenko has increasingly explained why he should speak. And there is always one argument as proof: otherwise Belarus will perish. But why should she die? There is never a definite answer to this, the columnist writes. “Freedom” Valentin Zhdanko.
The questions that the largest Belarusian society has today are: “Why is it impossible to hold fair elections? Why hold on to power like that, if it is obvious that after 27 years of sole rule, the people yearn for change? For the entire civilized world?”
Nobody dares to openly ask Lukashenka these questions in today’s Belarusian conditions. It is no coincidence that Lukashenka now and then gives explanations on this score, although no one seems to ask him:
October 26:
Bend over, crush, dry your feet. “.
22 of October:
“Once again, I warn ours: we have agreed, the decision has been made – carry it out. This is the main thing today.
September 28:
“After last year, we understand that they cannot be allowed to power.
Should this be understood in such a way that without Lukashenka, independent Belarus will immediately perish? Why, in this case, did not die, getting rid of authoritarian regimes, Latvia, Poland? How were they “bent over, crushed, wiped off their feet” or “just grinded in the millstones”? Those who helped, pouring in billions of euros in investments, modern infrastructure, opened their borders to their citizens, accepted them into the community of democratic states, where the law rules, and not the whim of an autocrat or an oligarchic junta? Even a war-torn Ukraine, having escaped from the imperial embrace with huge sacrifices and throwing off an authoritarian regime
Or does he mean by empire that without it the malicious West will immediately pull Belarus into the European Union? Will make you change the president every five years? Will he start dictating his will from Brussels and Washington? And will he allow the marches of gays and lesbians on the streets of Belarusian cities?
Beyond the Bug – the grinding of caterpillars “leopards”
Such “horrors” of a Belarusian citizen, who in most cases is well informed about life and being with his western neighbors, can hardly be scared. The threat of a real war is another matter. Isn’t that why the mention of tanks, which “rattle their tracks at the very upper border”, constantly sounds, as soon as it comes to the question of why nothing is impossible in Belarus? So on October 26 in Lida, Alexander Lukashenko recalled NATO tanks:
“Yesterday, the” leopards “threw tanks to our border. The scoundrels are extreme. Federations. Here we will act tough, regardless of any criticism from their side. “
Perhaps he really believes that tomorrow these “leopards”, having swum across the Bug, will crawl like a wedge to Baranovichi and Lida? Which has long been recognized for a military attack from Russia (and this, in fact, meant). would be the beginning of a world war)? In today’s Europe, they are afraid to even think about it.
Only one country on the European continent in the 21st century violated the treaties on the immunity of the post-war, annexed foreign territory and is still waging a war on foreign soil. Maybe he only says “West” and means “East”? Maybe he doesn’t say something, each time meaningfully hinting: “We will hold out when you listen and hear what I am telling you.”
And Poland is indeed alarmed by what is happening across its eastern border. And Bug’s “leopards” are neither an epithet nor a hyperbole. Just this week, Warsaw announced a plan for a dramatic defense budget. It is assumed that the country’s Armed Forces will increase from the current 110 thousand to 250 thousand servicemen. Moreover, the army must be professional, without compulsory conscription. This will happen, the Polish armed forces in the number of “bayonets” will become the third largest in NATO, after the United States and Turkey. Poland will move its troops closer to Bialystok and Suwalki, Lukashenka’s to Grodno and Brest. The Belarusian-Polish borderland will soon become one of the most militarized (and therefore explosive) territories of modern Europe.
The leader of the Law and Justice party, Jaroslaw Kaczynski, when he was reproached with the fact that this could become an unbearable burden for the state budget, recalled the divisions of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth at the end of the 18th century, when the country, not having its own combat-ready army, became a victim of aggressive neighbors and as a result for 123 years disappeared from the political map of the world. The genetic memory of that drama still lives on in the Polish people: he does not argue with this argument.
And for the unchanging Belarusian leader, the outlines of the “leopards” beyond the Bug are an argument in favor of the fact that he should stay. Do not leave the country, war threatens.
The big mystery of the subconscious
There is no rational explanation for the many times stated why Belarus should die without Lukashenka. This is a big mystery, the answer to which is hidden in someone’s subconscious. Remember, in the wonderful Soviet film by Mikhail Kazakov “The Pokrovskie Vorota” the intellectual Lev Khobotov, whom his ex-wife, having married another, perceives as his property, tries to interrogate her new husband: “Explain why you need me to live with you? What kind of joy are you? “And he hears in response:” What to do – you will be lost without us. ” And the logical question “Why did you get it into your head that I would be lost without you?” remains unanswered.
“This is my cross, and carry it to me!” – the strong-willed Margarita Pavlovna says pathetically to any attempt to free herself from her care.
“Kostik, explain to me what she wants?” – the unfortunate Hobotov-Ravikovich condemned the young hero Oleg Menshikov. And he hears in response: “You. She needs you.” But this is impossible! “-” Well, who knows … “
