Participation of San Marino in COP26
We receive and publish from the Secretariat of State for Foreign Affairs:
It will take place from 1 to 12 November 2021 in Glasgow, in the United Kingdom, the COP26, there Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
Six years after the approval of the Paris Agreement and approaching of 2030, year in which the Member States of the United Nations they are committed a reachthere the Sustainable Development Goals (including also Objective 13, dedicated specifically to climate change), the leaders of the earth are called a come together to deal with the serious that ifight on the future of the planet.
San Marino too participate al the Conference, representing the Republic will be present i Captains Regent, HE Francesco Mussoni and SE Giacomo Simoncini, accompanied by the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Luca Beccari.
The first two days of the Conference will be dedicated to the World Leader Summit (WLS), the assembly of the Heads of State C.he will define the line of work e in which they will participate representatives of over 120 countries, including also San Marino. The Captains Regent will deliver their speech during the morningta of 2 November.
The Conference will also be the right context to report to the United Nations commitment active of San Marino regard to thethe strategies implemented for the achievement ofthe ObSustainable Development Goals: in the first place the work of the Table for Sustainable Development and the drafting, this year, of the firstUN report “volunteer National Review“on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda.
Starting November 3rd, the negotiation phase will be entered and take place panels and meetings with experts and technicians, which will also be attended by the Secretary for the Territory and the Environment Stefano Canti.
The Conference will take place under the Presidency of the United Kingdom, in the person of the President of the COP26 Alok Sharma, in partnership with Italy.
