Innsbruck – The first trial run for the hot budget phase in Innsbruck takes place. Around the 2022 financial statements, often just a formality, the parties got into position yesterday. It was less about the bills from the previous year. But about the future and the double budget 22/23.
Reciprocal accusations between BM Georg Willi (Greens) and StR and predecessor Christine Oppitz-Plörer were there as well as a general accounting of the FPÖ with the debt policy of the past years. “Massive austerity measures” are needed, said StR Rudi Federspiel. And further: “We warned about this before the 2018 election and we were only laughed at. And now we really have a debt of 200 million euros. “
The debate about completing a number of twists. Once it was about dying of scarce needs allocations for the city, then about the federal government giving the state 16 million euros for regional trains. But the city doesn’t see anything. Again: assigning blame and calling for action.
SP-Str. Elisabeth Mayr criticized Willi and his media “smoke grenades” because the city chief had spoken of 20 million euros in the summer, the man has a surplus. But now the budget gap is visible. Willi was then exonerated by a majority of the municipal council. Against this were the FPÖ, Gerechtes Innsbruck and the Fritz list. (mw)
