Mary AnnEva Ingrao talked to Norden Norden Club about her life, after she was born in Sweden and came to the USA in 1956. She told about Sweden’s history and how today’s life is. She talked about her parents’ residence in Jamestown and her schooling at Euclid School. She noted that Sweden does not have any intersections with stop signs or turn-off signs, they are all roundabouts. She stated that Sweden is about the same size as California, with a population of 10 million, mostly in southern Sweden. Sweden was once a major producer of copper. The Falun mine in Falun, Sweden, functioned for a millennium from the 11th century to 1992. It is the dyes from the copper that produce the famous Falun red paint in many of Sweden’s homes.
