Freilassing: The 365-euro climate ticket from Salzburg is also valid for the border region
After Vienna, Salzburg is the second federal state to introduce a 365-euro ticket.This ticket is then not only valid for all buses and trains in the state, but also for city transport to and in Freilassing, as well as the connections of the transport association towards Bad Reichenhall , Mondsee and Bad Ischl.
Freilassing / Salzburg – An annual ticket for all public transport in Salzburg cost around euros before 2018, a total of 64 Salzburg residents afforded this luxury. Switching from cars to buses and trains will be so easy that the entire population will benefit, especially commuters, but also the economy and, last but not least, the environment. For Gewessler, the Salzburg annual ticket is “a wonderful addition to the Austria-wide climate ticket, which will be valid on all public transport throughout the country from October 26th”. This climate ticket – formerly a 1-2-3 ticket – currently costs 949 euros in advance sales, later 1095 euros and now also includes all railways in Vienna.
Ticket is unlimited
During the presentation, Schnölle emphasized repeatedly that the cross-border validity of the Salzburg annual ticket was particularly important to him, because many commuters would come to Salzburg every day from the Bavarian and Upper Austrian border areas to public transport in order to relieve the congestion in Salzburg, ”said Schnöll. The offer is not only valid for the S-Bahn to Freilassing, but also for city traffic in Freilassing. The post buses in the direction of Bad Reichenhall are also included in the tariff system, as they are ordered by the Salzburger Verkehrsverbund. Bicycles and dogs can be taken along free of charge.
