Venice, Golden Lions to the Ambassadors of Italy: four doctors awarded on the Lido
An award to the presidents and delegates of Italian organizations, associations and companies (medical-scientific, academic and professional) belonging to international organizations that have chosen the Peninsula to host a large congress. I ‘Golden Lions to the Ambassadors of Italy‘were delivered last night during the course of the same name ‘Night of the Lions’, ceremony held in Lido Cinema Palace, in the presence of the municipal councilor for tourism Simone Venturini and with the participation of the councilor for the budget Michele Zuin.
In order for an international body to consider whether to organize an event in a country, it is necessary that a member of the board put forward the candidacy. This recognition therefore aims to encourage institutional representatives to promote Italy as a venue for important congresses.
The winners: four doctors
The award, delivered by the councilors together with the president of Federcongressi & eventi Alessandra Albarelli, was assigned to four doctors: a Massimo Carlini, president of the Italian Society of Surgery, a Roberto Verna of the World Association of Societies of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, a Fabrizio Bruschi, president of the Italian Society of Parasitology ea Gabriele Siciliano of the Italian Society of Neurology.
13 million for the new convention center
Satisfaction was expressed by the Tourism Councilor Simone Venturini: “Thanks to the organizers and participants in this important event. It is a week in which the most important operators of the congress sector and the main customers are at the Lido and around our city. Municipality we are committed and we are working for the development of the sector, the so-called MICE, in Venice and the Lido, which is well suited to this. We aim to make it grow even during the winter season, to avoid the seasonalization of the tourist offer. ‘ also fallsinvestment of 13 million euros to build the new Lido congress center by 2023 “.

The award ceremony took place at the end of VII Association Days, the annual workshop of the congress market, postponed twice due to the health emergency and now underway in Venice from 21 to 23 October. The event was offered by the tourism marketing company Eureka MICE International and organized with Venezia Unica – Vela Spa and the main Venetian companies in the sector. Congress organizers meet at the Association Days to find possible meeting venues and meet any suppliers (for example for catering).
