Bruneck, Innsbruck – North Tyrol is not only concerned with wolves in the wild – the Innsbruck ice hockey cracks from HC Innsbruck also had a tough time with the Pustertal wolves in the evening. In the end, however, a 4: 3 (2: 0, 2: 2, 0: 1) away win for the Haie shone from the scoreboard. It was the seventh win in the first twelve games.
In the first third the HCI triumphed: They put a lot of pressure and in five minutes a shot from Mader found its way into the goal of HC Pustertal. Thanks to Joel Messner (19th), the guests were able to cheer again shortly before the third break.
When McGauley (21./PP) increased to 3-0 with a remarkable solo in the middle third, Mann probably speculated on a shooting festival. But there was no such thing. The home side (25th, Berger) resisted and after Messner’s second goal (27th, SH) started a race to catch up to 4-1: Budish (34th) and Ikonen (56th) could the hosts take heart again – in the end the Innsbruckers the narrow lead over time.
Take a short breath – on Saturday (5.30 p.m.) it continues towards Znojmo. (suki)
