CoV patients: doubling in Salzburg possible
Bless you
The number of CoV intensive care patients is likely to rise sharply in the next two weeks in Salzburg, according to the Covid forecast consortium commissioned by the Ministry of Health in its current forecast.
Around 264 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in seven days – that is the current incidence for the state of Salzburg, calculated on Thursday morning by the state statistics. This is what the Covid forecast consortium says, what the Covid forecast consortium says, which predicts the situation of the pandemic on behalf of the Ministry of Health on a weekly basis.
Seasonal effects are decisive
The reason for this sharp increase is seasonal effects in autumn, say the forecasters. And with a delay of a few days, this sharp increase in infections will also occur in the intensive care units in the state. Currently, 13 Covid sufferers need intensive medical treatment in Salzburg. By November 3, this number should rise to 19 to 41 intensive care patients – with an average of 28, the forecast consortium expects. 28 intensive care patients would be about as many as at the peak of the disease in December last year – since 32 patients needed intensive care at the height of the second wave of pandemics.
Increase expected in normal wards
The forecast consortium also expects a significant increase in Covid patients in the normal hospital wards. Currently (as of Thursday, 8.30 a.m.) 43 patients are being cared for there. By November 3, this is likely to have risen to between 51 and 123 people hospitalized in normal wards. The mean value of the prognosis is 79 patients – 90 percent more than the current one.
Incidence prognosis: Salzburg at the top
When it comes to the incidence prognosis, Salzburg is at the top of all federal states. Due to the “dynamic infection situation”, there should be an additional, extra-tour forecast on Friday. The state of Salzburg is currently not installing any additional coronavirus measures, according to the health department. But that can change quickly if the situation in individual places or regions comes to a head.
At the meetings of the country’s Covid Board, the situation is reassessed daily – the forecasts are also included here. Only this week an FFP2 mask was imposed for customers in the entire trade, in addition, exit controls apply in three Tennengau communities with particularly high numbers of infections.
