The virtual tour of the Tower of Pisa was born in Garfagnana – Cronaca
There is a lot of Garfagnana in the Virtual tour of the Tower of Pisa, realized in these days thanks to the collaboration between the Opera della Primaziale of Pisa, and Famiglie Sma, an association founded in 2001 by families and people who face spinal muscular atrophy every day , a rare neurodegenerative disease of genetic origin that is beneficial for normal development.
It is no coincidence that the idea of this virtual tour is by Marinella Mazzanti, mother of a boy suffering from SMA, in turn inspired by the work of two documentary makers from Castelnuovo, Pierluca Rossi and Enrica Rabacchi, who died prematurely recently, to whom a homage to memory. In addition, the texts are by the Castelnuovo journalist Barbara Pavarotti.
We recall that Pierluca Rossi and his wife Enrica Rabacchi conceived the “Free wheel” project and for the Polaris publishing house they created a new series of guides for tourism tailored to people with disabilities for the cities of Lucca, Pisa, Florence, Milan.
Finally, the credit for the finished work goes to Red Studio di Pietrasanta and its professionals, in particular Andrea Vecchio and Simone Vecchio.
“Now finally – explains Marinella Mazzanti – the Tower of Pisa can be virtually visited inside by everyone with a simple click, even by those who have problems in moving.
