Storm Aurore: the Calix Viaduct urgently closed due to gusts of wind in Caen

The information was communicated late, this Wednesday, October 20, 2021, by the Interdepartmental Direction of North-West Roads. The DIRNO has decided to close the Calix Viaduct, tonight from 9:00 p.m. Part of the Caen ring road is therefore closed for an indefinite period.
Because of the Aurora storm which is about to arrive, Calvados has been placed in orange vigilance by Météo France. The wind will strengthen overnight and the errors could be larger than expected. As a precaution but urgently, the Calix Viaduct, which is under construction until November, is closed.
“The climatic conditions will deteriorate during the night with gusts of wind which could reach 135 km / h”, explains the DIRNO in a press release.

As a precaution, the Calix Viaduct is closed at interchanges n ° 2 “Rives de l’Orne” (outside direction) and n ° 3 “Porte d’Angleterre” (inside direction).
Deviations will be set up by routes “S1” + “DEV2” from interchange n ° 2 “Rives de l’Orne” and “S2” + “DEV1″ from interchange n ° 3 ” Gate of England ”.
