The information was communicated late, this Wednesday, October 20, 2021, by the Interdepartmental Direction of North-West Roads. The DIRNO has decided to close the Calix Viaduct, tonight from 9:00 p.m. Part of the Caen ring road is therefore closed for an indefinite period.
Because of the Aurora storm which is about to arrive, Calvados has been placed in orange vigilance by Météo France. The wind will strengthen overnight and the errors could be larger than expected. As a precaution but urgently, the Calix Viaduct, which is under construction until November, is closed.
“The climatic conditions will deteriorate during the night with gusts of wind which could reach 135 km / h”, explains the DIRNO in a press release.
⚠️ Due to the strong gusts announced, as a precautionary measure, the Calix viaduct closes to all traffic from 9 p.m. at the level of interchanges n ° 2 “Rives de l’Orne” (outside direction) and n ° 3 “Porte d ‘England’ (inner meaning).
