Environmentally friendly technology for waste disposal companies – salzburg.ORF.at
business
The waste disposal company Rieger, headquartered in Neumarkt am Wallersee (Flachgau), is investing around three million euros in environmental protection – in the vehicle fleet, machines and energy supply.
Waste disposal and recycling is associated with noise, dust and stench – the Rieger Group, a family company in Neumarkt am Wallersee with branches in Linz, Vienna and Bavaria is upgrading its Salzburg location in terms of environmental technology: with an electrically operated large shredder for PVC and wood waste from a Kuchler Company for 670,000 euros, an electric excavator for 250,000 euros and two tank trucks that recycle water and immediately reprocess it into usable water – for 600,000 euros each.
Waste disposal remains a business, but that can also be done with even more consideration for nature, says company owner Hans Rieger: “It’s just a lot more environmentally friendly.”
More transport by rail, photovoltaics on the roof
Rail transport is also to be expanded – currently 200 wagons are on the way for the waste disposal company every year. There are already new railway tracks in Neumarkt for this purpose. And investments are also being made in the power supply: with an approximately 3,500 square meter photovoltaic system on a hall roof. The costs for this are around 400,000 euros.
