Man of the match: Castillejo (7.5): his entry into the repeat changes the course of the match. There is a lot of danger in the opponent’s area and forces his opponent to make mistakes. It is he who wins the penalty which allows the Milanese to equalize, and he is also at the origin of the but against his camp which ends up offering the victory to the men of Pioli who were still badly started.
Milan (4-2-3-1)
Tătărușanu (5.5): Maignan’s replacement, injured, is present on several occasions when the Veronese start to score again.
Ballo-Touré (5.5): despite a glaring lack of precision in the centers, he made a match having rather managed to recover some precious balls in his opponents.
Tomori (6): better in his match compared to his teammates, he scores well Kalinic who is struggling to find space.
Romagnoli (5.5): he is rather vigilant but is sometimes too committed. It is he who causes the penalty which allows the Veronese to double the bet.
Calabria (5): he recovers a good number of balls but, not always serene, he makes some mistakes which could have been expensive. In the offensive phase, it lacks precision.
Kessie (7): rather in place in the middle of the field, it takes more scope in the second half and keeps the necessary composure to register the penalty which allows the Milanese to equalize.
Bennacer (6.5): he collects an incalculable number of balls and brings a little solidity to a Milan who is struggling to enter the match. It gives way to Ibrahimovic at the 77th minute.
Rebić (not rated): in a chaotic start to the match, he was the only one to be really dangerous on the Milan side. He went out with an injury in the 36th minute, leaving his place to Lea (6.5) which multiplies the good movements to bring danger, and offers a decisive pass to Giroud.
Maldini (5): he is a good point of reference in attack but lacks precision and, in a complicated match, quickly runs out of ideas. It is Krunic (6) who replaces him when he takes over.
Saelemaekers (5): very discreet, he is the author of a single good attempt which ends in the gloves of Montip. It gives way to Castillejo (7.5) at the 46th minute.
Giroud (6): it is often too isolated to bring real danger. However, he managed to regain a very good ball from Leao and allowed Pioli’s men to get back into the race. It is Tonali which takes its place in the 82nd minute.
Hellas (3-4-2-1)
Montip (5): impossible for him to intervene on the goals of this evening. We can still blame him for his lack of precision in the recovery.
Ceccherini (6): certainly the most solid of the Veronese defenders, he does a clean and faultless job to prevent the Milanese from bringing danger. It gives way to Sutalo on resumption.
Gunter (4): he has a lot of trouble containing his evening opponent and loses a lot of balls. He is also the unfortunate author of a but against his camp on a center of Castillejo.
Casal (4,5): he started the game well with a good number of interceptions, but ended up breaking down. He loses his duel against Giroud who allows rossoneri to come back and fail to offer an additional sentence to the Milanese.
Faraoni (5.5): rather satisfactory at the start of the match, he managed to limit the danger learned by his opponent but ended up collapsing by taking the penalty which allowed the Milanese to return to the race.
Ilic (4.5): too weak in the middle of the field, he can not resist very long to the Milanese who end up putting their game in place.
Veloso (5.5): he is in the right place at the right time to pick up a ball that is trailing in the box, and send it to Caprari who follows. Apart from that, he is often late compared to his opponent in the evening, even if it is the fault. It is Tameze who replaced him in the 60th minute.
Lazović (5): interesting at times, he has a lot of impact on his side but lacks consistency in this meeting. He gave up his place in the 79th minute to Cancellieri.
Barak (6.5): certainly the best side of Verona, he does not lack good ideas from the start of the meeting and creates interesting situations for his partners. He also transforms the penalty which momentarily allows the men of Tudor to take a serious advantage.
Caprari (6): he is attentive and his work pays off. He follows the action well which allows Veloso to regain the ball near the surface, and manages to push it into the net thus offering the advantage to his team. He gave up his place in the 60th minute to Simeone.
Kalinić (5.5): well marked by Tomori, he does not always have the possibility of creating space. There are, however, a few interesting faults, one of which will result in a penalty. It is Lasagna which takes its place in the 64th minute.
