“Pepi Frommelt is a brand, is a ‘brand’ here in the country” – Liechtenstein
TRIESEN – New Home: The Pepi Frommelt Foundation, established in the summer, will reside in the Alte Sennerei in Triesen for the next few years. The premises were officially handed over to the Board of Trustees on Friday.
He left a great legacy when Josef «Pepi» Frommelt died on November 11, 2019. A legacy that has not yet existed in Liechtenstein’s musical landscape.
From 1966 to 2000 he was director of the Liechtenstein Music School, and in 1970 he founded the International Master Classes, to which Volksblatt.li recently devoted a large background report. Music was his life; he was known far beyond the country’s borders as a musician, music educator, conductor and composer.
In addition to his many national and international mandates in the music landscape, he was interested in politics
and education too, as he was a member of the state parliament in various European commissions.
Accordingly, not only did the family lose a personality, but the State of Liechtenstein also mourned the pioneer and trailblazer in many areas of musical life.
About the establishment of the foundation reported the “Volksblatt” in June.
