The Avignon Criminal Court evoked, Friday, a case of violence with a weapon triggered during the night of September 4 to 5 in Vaugines. That night Wilfried, 32, worried about not seeing his friend Natacha, with whom he has been in a relationship for two years, coming back from an evening spent with grape harvester friends, decided to go and meet him. At 5 a.m., he saw his friend chatting in her car with Temarii Aturia, 30, who has been confident since middle school. A first altercation opposed the two men, Wilfried suspecting an infidelity. Then the couple left but Natacha stopped the vehicle after a few meters because an argument broke out with her companion. Temarii Aturia, who was drunk, joined them armed with an ax and, after saying “do not touch” struck Wilfried twice who sustained injuries to his forehead and right hand while sitting in the passenger seat of the car.

He explains that he heard Wilfried say that he was going to get a gun so “for fear of threats”, he decided “in the heat of the moment”, to hit him but “not to kill him”. “The consequences of this cockfight could be more serious” declares the substitute Roux who notes that the defendant was not threatened when he injured the victim at the EU an ITT of 3 days.

The prosecutor notes the lack of empathy of the defendant already convicted twice for violence. He is asking for an eighteen-month prison sentence, one of which is suspended for two years, with no contact with the victim and continued detention. Me Thevenon insists, during his defense, on the relations that his client had with the young woman who confided in her life with Wilfried of many ruptures.

He goes that night that they were no longer together and wanted to protect her when he heard loud voices. After deliberation, the court imposed a two-year prison sentence, one of which was suspended. It is pronounced his continued detention.
