Voters in Portugal have 64 polling stations, including in the Azores, for Cape Verde’s changes – Observer
Cape Verdean voters in Portugal have 64 polling stations, from the mainland to the autonomous region of the Azores, to be able to vote on their country’s presidential changes, next Sunday, said a statement from the Cape Verde embassy.
“The consular section of the Cape Verde embassy in Portugal makes public that in Portugal there are 64 polling stations, which are distributed throughout the regions of Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, North and South of the country and the Autonomous Region of the Azores”, reads up on the note.
According to the statement from the diplomatic representation of Cape Verde, Lisbon and Vale do Tejo have the largest number of polling stations, more than 40, required in Agualva, Alfornelos, Amora, Arrentela, Buraca, Barreiro, Carnaxide, Casal de S. Brás, Cova da Piedade, Damaia, Lisbon (at the embassy), Mina, Monte de Caparica and Odivelas.
But also in Porto Salvo, Queluz-Monte Abraão, Reboleira, Rio de Mouro, Sacavém, São Domingos de Rana, Setúbal, Unhos, Vale da Amoreira, Vialonga and Zambujal.
In the North region there will be polling stations in Aveiro, Braga, Bragança, Castelo Branco, Coimbra, Covilhã, Guarda, Leiria, Mirandela, Porto, Portalegre and Viana do Castelo.
Cape Verdean voters chosen from the South region will have polling stations in Beja, Évora, Faro, Portimão, Quarteira and Sines.
As for voters from the Autonomous Region of the Azores, they declare in Angra do Heroísmo, on Terceira island, Madalena, on Pico island, and Ponta Delgada, on São Miguel island.
The embassy reminds that in order to exercise their right to vote, citizens Identity card required, even if expired, National Identification Card (CNI), passport (ordinary, diplomatic or service), issued by the competent authorities of Cape Verde, even if expired.
They can also vote with the receipt of the CNI request, duly signed and with the white seal of the issuing service, with valid civil identification documents issued by the competent authorities of the host country, valid civil identification documents, issued by any European country, in the case of voters residing in Europe, a valid Portuguese citizen card and passport and a valid residence card issued by the competent service in the host country.
Polling stations open at 8:00 am on October 17 and will close at 6:00 pm, according to the statement.
For any additional information, you can “consult the electoral roll” at the Electoral Registration Commission, at Cape Verde’s embassy in Lisbon, at Cape Verde’s honorary consulates in Porto, in Portimão and in Angra do Heroísmo, in the Azores.
They can also do so at the consular support offices of the Cape Verdean Association of Setúbal and the Cape Verdean Association of Sines and Santiago do Cacém.
The embassy said in the statement that the data are also available on the website of the National Election Commission of Cape Verde and Cape Verdean associations and student associations.
