The face of Monte Titano
An almost gruff face, with a bearded chin, mouth and then to go up nose, eyebrows and hair. And the face of Monte Titano first seen by Emanuele Rastelli, composer and accordionist, when as a child he played on the balcony of the house. “For almost 50 years – he says – I have been looking at this face wondering if perhaps he is really the Titan”.
“Already from the age of three – says Rastelli – right from the terrace of my house, looking at the mountain, I realized that just below the towers this very delineated face appeared. mountain giant. Over the years, then, reasoning, I thought that it was the Saint Marino who left him, with this gaze turned towards the horizon to protect our Republic. In my career as a musician I have toured all five continents and I must say that I have never seen one natural sculpture perfect like this “.
Next to the face then also appears the profile of a horse. The giant is clearly visible from all over the Republic, in particular along a line that crosses Borgo Maggiore, Valdragone and Tavolucci, then descending throughout the San Marino territory. “A real natural monument” defines it Rastelli.
“In my opinion – he adds – it can also be something since great tourist value as well as cultural and naturalistic. This remains my giant, I have grown up but I still see it with the eyes of when I was little “.
