In San Marino the Delegation of the Interparliamentary Friendship Group and the British Parliament and some British entrepreneurs
yesterday on the Titan a delegation from the Interparliamentary Friendship Group with San Marino of the British Parliament and some British entrepreneurs, confirming the attention and willingness to strengthen bilateral collaboration at the broadest institutional level. Following the visit, which took place a few days ago in San Marino, by the Hon. Jeremy Hunt, today’s visit is part of a path of growing collaboration and friendship between the two countries. In the morning, the British parliamentary representatives were received at Palazzo Begni by the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Luca Beccari, with whom they had an interview, focusing on the numerous areas of existing collaboration, at bilateral and multilateral level. At the end of the meetings, the President of the Interparliamentary Friendship Group with San Marino, Mr. Andrew Rosindell and three of the entrepreneurs who contributed to the promotion of the Republic abroad, prof. George Holmes, Dr. Dominic Johnson and prof. Nadey S. Hakim were directly awarded by the Secretary of State an honor of the Equestrian Order of Sant’Agata. Afterwards, the delegation had a broad and detailed discussion with the British San Marino delegation led by Secretary of State Beccari and composed of the Ambassador of San Marino to the United Kingdom Silvia Marchetti and the Consul Maurizio Bragagni. Collaboration in the health, commercial, tourism, cultural and financial fields at the center of the talks, as well as the interest and consultation of common paths in the European context, in consideration of their respective status. In the context of the cordial conversation, particularly was the concrete willingness to open up to a constant and fruitful dialogue, at parliamentary and institutional level, capable of realizing strategic cooperation for the effective relaunch of the historical bond. Both delegations then went up to the Palazzo Pubblico for the audience granted to them by the Captains Regent Francesco Mussoni and Giacomo Simoncini who, delivering the speech in English, thus confirm the cordial relations between the two countries with unique characteristics, being the oldest monarchy and the oldest republic. The continuity of dialogue and open confrontation between the two countries was also confirmed in the ability to advance their respective political and economic agendas in the current post-Brexit era. Hon. Rosindell also further recalled the common feeling of love for the freedom of the two countries and the full willingness to promote an accelerated sensitivity towards new cooperation projects.
