Aldi Portugal challenges Portuguese illustrators to design reusable bags
AN Aldi Portugal invited three Portuguese illustrators (Carolina Maria, Sofia Morais and Tiago Albuquerque) to develop for the retailer’s new reusable bags that reflect sustainability.
In a statement, Aldi explains that Sofia Morais, using the technique of engraving, illustrated a bag alluding to sustainable fishing. Carolina Maria, through digital illustration, signed the bag of national frescoes. Finally, Tiago Albuquerque illustrated the theme of organic products, using the technique of vector digital illustration.
Altogether, there will be six illustrated bags. In addition to the three bags that are already available at ALDI stores, for the second launch, scheduled for 2022, the Portuguese will be able to find three other bags alluding to fair trade, offerings and animal welfare.
For the Marketing and Communication Director of ALDI Portugal, Ricardo Santos, “by challenging these illustrators to collaborate with us, we are also discovering a new way to promote their talent and their work and make them known to Portuguese people. It is also a way of supporting and contributing to the production of national talent”.
The new reusable bags are made from 100% recycled polypropylene and can now be found in Alid stores.
