the Heart Bus stops at the Plaine des sports
To help the most fragile women to take care of their cardiovascular health, the association “Agir pour le Cœur des Femmes” has launched the Buses du Cœur. Cardiovascular disease still kills 200 women in France every day. Prevention rather than cure, which is now possible in 8 out of 10 cases.
Doctor Cécile Defrance, cardiologist, local ambassador of the Bus du Cœur, and Marcel Bouret (82 years old), president of the Cœur Santé Avignon club, from Wednesday October 13 on the site that hosts the Bus du Cœur. After prior registrations established by the city’s social services, around 50 to 60 women per day enter the Bus for a complete cardiovascular screening. About thirty volunteers from both private and public sectors, as well as logistical support from the City (barnum, meals, etc.) are needed for this operation.
A “wellness and health village” with free access
The “Wellness and Health Village” will be set up around the bus with free access (prevention stands, relaxation therapy, CPAM for rights, physical exercises, first aid measures, etc.). It will be led by nurses, dieticians, midwives and angiologists to screen for an abdominal aortic aneurysm in just a few minutes.
The Bus du Cœur will be parked from October 13 to 15, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the Plaine des Sports avenue Pierre-Semard in Avignon.
