Ukraine will switch to winter time on the last Sunday of October
On the night of October 31, Sunday, around 4 am, Ukrainians switch to winter time, and then turn the clocks to 1 (one) year ago.
This was reported by Ukrinform.
It should be noted that the conversion of clocks in Ukraine to winter and free time takes four decades, and for traditional hands are shifted in autumn and spring – on the last Sunday in October and on the last Sunday in March.
This year’s Ukrainians will switch to winter time, when they will face October 31, for about 4 years. Thus, the next addition to the weekend will automatically increase by a year.
The transfer of clocks in Ukraine is regulated by the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of May 13, 1996 №509 “On the procedure for calculating time on the territory of Ukraine”.
The “summer” and “winter” procedures for calculating time, first invited to Great Britain in 1908 for the economy and the rational distribution of electricity, were introduced. In the USSR, the transition to winter time and navigation will begin regularly in 1981.
According to Ukrinform, in March of this year, the Verkhovna Rada corrected the amendments to the committee of the bill №4201 “On calculating time in Ukraine”, which proposes to cancel the periods of viewing clocks and, thus, to leave “winter” time in Ukraine.
