Portugal 4×4 Championship returned to Valongo for the start of the season
Almost 20 months after the inaugural journey of the Portugal 4×4 Trial Championship and after successive confinements due to COVID-19, a CPT4x4 caravan returned to Valongo for the start of the 2021 season.
There were 24 teams that composed “one of the best starting grids in memory in a starting race”, referred to a statement from the organization. “And the audience, missing the adrenaline, attended in full, even with all the restrictions and limitations derived from COVID-19”, continuous.
Marco Polonio (Malpevent Team) set the best time in the prologue and therefore started at the front, a place that never gave up. Cláudio Ferreira eou almost the entire race very close, but Marco Polonio managed to expand the advantage and ended up with 2h30 of resistance with three laps ahead. Accompanied by Daniel Esteves, he won the class and also in absolute terms.
António Silva (Canelas Pneus) repeated this year the first place achieved in March 2020. He completed 15 laps of the circuit and secured first place in the Proto class.
António Moreira (Valclima) arrived, saw and won in the Extreme class. Crown the debut in CPT4x4 with the gold medal.
In the Promotion class, Tiago Costa (SuperPrint) was the winner. In 2019, it tried the FUN class, in 2020 it provided good indicators with victory in Valongo. This year, he repeated the feat and with 10 laps he was ranked first in the Promotion.
