Réunie à Bordeaux autour d’Olivier Dussopt, l’aile gauche de la Macronie veut peser
11:30 p.m., October 9, 2021
This is called counter-programming. While Édouard Philippe gathered on Saturday in Le Havre more than 3,000 supporters for the launch of his movement, Horizons, the left wing of Macronie met in Bordeaux this weekend for the first congress of his current Territories of progress (TdP). Faced with the personalities aligned by the former tenant of Matignon, essentially wanted from the moderate right, the micromovement to flaunt its strengths with the interventions, Saturday, of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jean-Yves Le Drian, and the deputy ministers Emmanuelle Wargon (Housing), Olivier Dussopt (Public Accounts) and Clément Beaune (European Affairs), all from the Socialist Party.
As well as that of their colleague of the Armies, Florence Parly, who claimed, on behalf of this family, the social share of the balance sheet of Emmanuel Macron, listing a series of measures ranging from the PMA for all to the increase of the minimum old age through apprenticeship reform. And to launch: “Do you find that that looks like a right-wing policy?”
Olivier Dussopt elected at their head
On Saturday, the 2,000 members of the left-wing macronist current elected their president. Without the slightest suspense: Olivier Dussopt was the only candidate, after the reconciliation in extremis, a week before the vote, of the two competing motions in the running. Discussions were bitter. On the one hand, the supporters of greater independence vis-à-vis La République en Marche (LREM), PS deputy attributed by the former PS Gilles Savary, who ensures: “The neither-right-nor-left throws its last fires and there is a return to political identities. This is what Édouard Philippe is doing in Le Havre, and it will weigh very heavily. The left must also organize itself. ” On the other, the defenders of “overcoming the left-right cleavage”, remained faithful to the macronist line of “at the same time”, behind Olivier Dussopt or Emmanuelle Wargon, appointed Saturday at the head of the national council of TdP.
The latter therefore won. “We will carry ideas within the common base of the presidential majority, explains Wargon. But we do not have to choose if these fights, we carry them on one side or the other of the majority. We carry them. together.” As for the tenants of the autonomy, who wanted to prohibit the dual membership of LREM and TdP, they did not succeed, and did not obtain only 25% of the positions in the authorities. But they won on one point: the principle of an independent group in the National Assembly, at the end of the anticipated legislative elections, has been established. This in order to impose a balance of power within the future Macronist common house, in particular on the question of investitures.
Surprise speech by François Rebsamen
Will these advances make it possible to make new war prey on the side of the PS? The leaders of the current observing with greed the setbacks of Anne Hidalgo, whose campaign does not manage to take off. “I am not sure that she has the capacity to hold out, comments Gilles Savary, former spokesperson for Ségolène Royal during the 2007 presidential election. It could cause an explosion of the PS before the presidential election and lead to rallies at home. “Among the personalities regularly cited, the mayor of Le Mans, Stéphane Le Foll, who will face Hidalgo on Thursday in a vote for the nomination reserved for members of the PS only – and to which Olivier Dussopt winked during his speech new president.
Likewise, the surprise intervention on Saturday, by videoconference, of the PS mayor of Dijon, François Rebsamen, is presented as the “sign” of a future rallying. “We are not going to lie to each other, I think he is waiting for that, to join us”, supports a member of the national council. The former Minister of Labor, however, did not take the opportunity to franchise the Rubicon. “I wish that our majority ideas are structured more”, he was happy to declare.
