99 out of 119 municipalities affected
“The regional spread of the corona virus in Salzburg is persistently high,” reports the head of the state statistics, Gernot Filipp. There is currently at least one active case in 99 municipalities. In 67 municipalities, the 7-day incidence exceeded 100, in 21 municipalities it was over 250. In the mountain regions, the 7-day incidence was below 100, which is significantly lower than in the other three districts, ”said Filipp .
Hospitalization and previous illnesses
There are currently 41 Covid-19 patients in the hospital, 9 of them in the intensive care unit. According to state statistics, the average age of intensive care patients is around 56 years. 13 of the patients in the normal ward are fully immunized, one is in the intensive care unit. “Fully immunized people who last died in hospital in Germany were mostly people with previous illnesses. But even with these, the course of the disease was usually much less severe than with those who were not vaccinated, ”says Dr. Uta Hoppe, Primary at the University Hospital Salzburg.
Around 4,900 refreshments
For the booster vaccination, according to the recommendation of the NIG, it is currently the turn of the most important residents of senior citizens’ homes, people with previous illnesses and high or particularly high risk people over 65 years of age. In total, around 4,900 people have already received another dose. Vaccination coordinator Dr. Rainer Pusch answered the most common questions this week.
