24th International Book Fair in Krakow, stationary and online

The fair will last four days from Thursday 14th to Saturday 17th October. Their motto “Man lives by change” to the quotation from Stanisław Lem’s book “Summa Technologiae”. There are several changes at the fair, and it concerns the sharpest line that is associated with the pandemic.
“Visitors to the group divided into two: vaccinated and non-vaccinated people, which means that at the same time in the EXPO Kraków hall there will be groups of 1.4 thousand unvaccinated people. They had to make a statement on whether they were vaccinated or not,” said the president of the Fair on Thursday in Krakow Grażyna Grabowska. What’s new is the Fantastic Literature Festival. “The guests of the Fair will be, among others, the illustrator Magdalena Babińska, Agata Jadowska, the author of the fantasy novel, Jacek Komuda – a reconstructor who records his novels, settles in the Sarmatian times, Mateusz Rogalski, Franciszek Piątkowski, Paweł Kopijer and Andrzej Pilipiuk” – announced Małgorzata Downar.
15 meetings are planned for the period of the Mountain and Tourist Book Festival. The passion for climbing and fascination with the mountains will be answered, among others, by Krzysztof Wielicki, Denis Urubko, Arek Lwów, Marcin “Yeti” Tomaszewski and Maciej Piera running the “Szczytomaniak” channel. For the Tatra Mountains, which will be used as first aid by the Tatra National Park, the Tatra Mountains made sure that it was used as first aid. On October 16, the 6th International Competition for the “Best Publications on Nature” will be resolved.
For the first time at the Book Fair in Krakow, Interpreter Sparing will be held – that is, translated with the participation of the Portuguese language, attended by Gabriel Borowski and Wojciech Charchalis, the judge will be Marta Eloy Cichocka.
One of the events will be a discussion prepared by the National Library – how did the pandemic affect the needs and habits of habits? This is considered by: Dr. Tomasz Makowski – director of the National Library, Dr. hab. Roman Chymkowski – insp. Of the National Library Reading Research Laboratory, prof. Grzegorz Nieć – insp. Of the Department of Information Culture of the Pedagogical University of Krakow and Agnieszka Staniszewska-Mól – director of the Krakow Library.
