Red Bull Munich: high-class duel, late decision: 3: 4 defeat against Zug

Red Bull Munich lost a high-class CHL game against the Swiss champions EV Zug 3: 4 (0: 1 | 2: 1 | 1: 2). In front of 1,780 spectators, Frederik Tiffels (double) and Trevor Parkes scored the Munich goals. The team of coach Don Jackson is third in the table in the last game day of the next group D. The decision about the move into the round of 16 will be made on Wednesday (October 13th | 7.45pm) in Zug. The Red Bulls then need a win after regular time to advance.
Course of the game
Fast, technically high-quality, intensive – Munich and Zug with top ice hockey in the first third. The guests got off to a better start: Anton Lander faked to make it 0-1 after 23 seconds. The Red Bulls recovered quickly and were the better team after that. Tiffels had the best of several great chances, but his direct shot in the power play hit the post (12th minute).
Top level also in the second third. Zug was more present at first. The Red Bulls under pressure, but in the 29th minute with a dream combination: The puck landed in front of the goal via Parkes and Ben Street, Tiffels held the stick in – 1: 1 (29th). In the 35th minute, Munich cheered again: Parkes completed a nice move in the power play to 2-1. The EVZ reported back before the second third break with Fabrice Herzog equalizing (38th).
High tension in the final section. Tiffels was looking forward to 3: 2 (45th) after a pass from Parkes. The Red Bulls were back on the playoff course. Zug fought his way back and scored 3: 3 because Dario Simion placed the puck in the corner (52nd). The Swiss increased the pressure in the last minutes and scored the decisive goal 26 seconds before the final siren by Jan Kovar to make the final score 3: 4.
