Anneke Tidden nominated for Best Library Specialist in the Netherlands
HOOGEZAND – Anneke Tiddens, reading and media consultant at Biblionet Groningen, nominated for Best Library Specialist in the Netherlands. This award is issued once every two years. With this well deserved NShe is the only delegate from the Northern Netherlands for the final battle.
The voting campaign for Anneke was kicked off on Friday 1 October in the library of Hoogezand. Alderman José van Schie (municipality of Midden-Groningen) cast the first vote there.
Energetic professional and connector
The nomination did not come out of the blue. Over the past 37 years, Anneke has taught thousands of children, young people and adults how to read. She encourages learning by doing, from the now to learning to read, computer, building in the eLAB, collaboration from discovery. In doing so, she always seeks collaboration with schools, welfare organizations, the government and the business community. Anneke is an energetic professional and connector, with confidence in the other person’s abilities. She is the epitome of what Biblionet Groningen stands for: developing, meeting, inspiring and giving everyone the opportunity to participate in society.
Build with us
A project she is very proud of is ‘Build with us’. Together with colleague Arnoud Wilpstra, he was the initiator of, where children could contribute ideas about their own environment by building in Minecraft. Together with local residents, they conducted research, came up with solutions and reported them in many creative ideas. Anneke: ‘This project will be carried out three times: around the reclassification of the municipality of Midden-Groningen, around a new child center in the municipality of Midden-Groningen and around the design of the square for a public transport hub at the MFC Siddeburen. Children are often used to think about their own environment. In a project like this, which is also part of our living lab for digital citizenship, they get a voice, they experience what perspectives there are and how to get started.’
