General strike of Tuesday, October 5 and demonstration in Paris: what we know

From the private sector to the public sector via youth organizations, a general strike is announced this Tuesday, October 5, 2021. The traffic in public transport in Paris and fr Ile-de-France will be impacted and a demonstration is scheduled from 2 p.m. departing from Place de la République.
The disruptions to be expected in public transport
The inter-union formed by the CGT, FO, FSU, Solidaires, the high school union FIDL, the National high school movement and the UNEF urging the mobilization for better working and study conditions. They are demonstrating in the streets of France against the reform of unemployment insurance in particular.
If the metro should not be too affected, some RER lines will be affected by disruptions like the line E or 7 out of 10 trains will run between Haussmann Saint-Lazare and Chelles Gournay, 9 out of 10 between Haussmann Saint-Lazare and Villiers / Tournan. On the line D, SNCF announces 3 out of 4 trains and traffic will be very disrupted on the T3a tram.

Demonstration of the Place de la République
The first itinerary submitted by the intersyndicale, going from Place de la République to Place de la Concorde, has not been validated by the police headquarters. “The motif is localized, place near the ministries and Place Vendôme, not acceptable (…) in a leaflet.
However, the unions maintain this starting point and have agreed to meet at 2 p.m.
Many events are planned in France for this day of mobilization as in Lille, Nantes or Nice.
