The climate bonus varies in Tyrol
politics
According to a provisional map presented by Statistics Austria, the climate bonus varies in the Tyrolean municipalities. However, according to this plan, there is no municipality in Tyrol with the lowest classification, not even the state capital Innsbruck.
The climate bonus is an element of the tax reform that was presented by the federal government on Sunday. According to the current plans, the regional climate bonus will apply to everyone – regardless of whether they work or not. The amount will depend on where you live.
100 to 200 euros a year
Anyone who lives in the country and has poor access to public transport will receive 200 euros a year. City dwellers with excellent connections get 100 euros, in between there are two levels of 133 and 167 euros. From July 2022, the respective amount will be transferred once a year by the Climate Protection Ministry. For the classification, in addition to the division of the municipalities into city, country and surrounding area (“urban-rural typology”), only accessibility by public transport was taken into account.
From Innsbruck to Gerlos
As things stand, Innsbruck and most of the following municipalities – such as Völs and Rum, but also Thaur, Absam and Hall – are in level II in Tyrol. That means: One person receives a climate bonus of € 133 per year. Kufstein and Wörgl, Lienz as well as Telfs, Pfaffenhofen and Oberhofen are currently in this category.
Many municipalities in the Innsbruck-Land district are in level III with a climate bonus of 167 euros per year. In the Oberland but also Imst, Zams and some communities in Ausserfern. Municipalities in areas with poor public transport connections – such as Sölden, St. Leonhard im Pitztal or Kramsach and Gerlos – fall in level IV with a climate bonus of 200 euros per year.
