Milestones in the recovery plan can only limit political will
Milestones set in the recovery plan, on the basis of which Slovakia can request payment from European Commission, can only be delayed by political will.
He stated in Premi Eduard Heger (OĽANO) during Monday’s press conference. Lívia Vašáková, Director General of the Recovery Plan Section at the Office of the Government, admitted that the first request for compensation under some legislative proposals probably had to be accepted through abbreviations in order to be effective, but until the first request for payment was submitted during the following year.
14 milestones
According to Vašáková, the first request for payment is about 14 milestones that need to be met. “Some of them are already fulfilled, some are well on their way to being fulfilled, and for some we show that efforts are needed, but we can still do it., “Said Vašáková.
What will happen if the fulfillment of one milestone is still being negotiated, but the European Commission has promised that it will be possible to keep the request for payment and that the money can only be claimed subsequently. However, other Member States already have these problems.
The first request for payment of Slovakia is valid in the 1st or 2nd quarter of next year. Among those 14 milestones, Vašáková testifies to some legislative proposals which, unless they are approved through various abbreviations, will not be effective until then.
“If it were approved at the January meeting of the National Council, we know that we can include these milestones and targets in this first request for payment., “Concluded Vašáková.
At the same time, the state also prepares early warnings in the form of member countries and targets, which set a timetable for reforms and investments with clear responsibility for any caution in individual ministries.
“This system helps us to inform us in good time about measures to prevent us from extinguishing a fire when someone throws away a cigarette and not when our entire roof is already burning., “Illustrated Vašáková.
Negotiations with Brussels
According to her, Slovakia has an internal system in place and the government also wants it in the inter-ministerial comment procedure, but it expects further results of negotiations with the European Commission.
“The ideal situation would be if we had one document“Make a note.
On the margins of whether the government would be able to push through its reforms, the former said the state would focus on bringing about change. “To bring people the positive change we have in mind and for which we have the money we publicly expect, “” the prime minister declared, stating that negotiations with coalition partners will also be carried out in such a way that the reforms can be enforced. “
