“Be more incisive with Italy”
“We therefore ask that every possible action be taken in order to overcome this situation that is undoubtedly creating so much tension among citizens, citizens who, let us remember, have undergone vaccinations with Sputnik with a great sense of responsibility, an obligatory choice in the first months, and who now paradoxically see themselves treated as “Series B” vaccinated. “
Thus the San Marino union Usl intervenes on Italy’s failure to recognize vaccination with the Russian Sputnik for the validity of the green pass, 10 days after the entry into force of the vaccination obligation for all Italian workers.
The union, in a note, comments “with satisfaction” on the reassurances of the Secretariat of Health regarding the negotiations to obtain an extension of the derogation provided for in Article 6 of the Italian Legislative Decree 111/2021, which grants the San Marino citizens vaccinated Sputnik exemption from the obligation of the green pass. “This rekindles hope – it continues – even if” the crux of the vaccine remains Russian Sputnik V, which to date is not among those approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and which does not seem to intend to proceed with recognition in the short term “.
For Usl “the question is now clear: the aforementioned European recognition is in fact automatically valid for vaccines approved by the EMA – therefore Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson – while for the Russian Sputnik V the European Union has left a choice to individual states as to how liberty the matter is. At the moment, despite the general reassurances expressed in recent months, many countries have not recognized the Russian vaccination as valid, thus leaving the vast majority of San Marino citizens and thousands of Italian residents without a valid green pass. to San Marino.
In the absence of a stable solution – recalls the union – the San Marino citizens will therefore be forced to carry out a rapid or molecular swab at their own expense to access outside borders to sporting events, fairs, congresses, museums, theaters, cinemas, concerts, public competitions. For tables at indoor tables in bars and restaurants, swimming pools, gyms. But also to visit relatives in homes for the elderly and access the waiting sales of emergency rooms or enter hospital wards to visit hospitalized family members just to name a few. In addition, even greater demands are almost always required to travel abroad, such as quarantine “.
But the problem will be even wider from 15 October onwards, that is when the obligation to have a green card in order to work will come into force in Italy. “Should there be no further extensions or developments – writes Usl – when the derogation provided for in Article 6 of the Italian Legislative Decree 111/2021 expires there will be approximately 1,200 workers who go to work in Italy every day and a large number of students who will be forced to swab swabs, otherwise they will be denied the opportunity to go to work or to access school and university facilities.
There are already rumors that some San Marino workers with a fixed-term contract and vaccinated Sputnik may not see their contract renewed in Italy.
We as a trade union organization – continues Usl – have always supported, while respecting the freedom of individual choice, the collective need to get vaccinated, because the vaccine is a tool that neglects it has proved effective to fight the pandemic.
For this reason, today, in seeing that after a long time no definite and definitive solutions have yet been found to the problem, but that on the contrary worrying solutions are being proposed such as administering a third dose with a vaccine recognized by EMA, we feel obliged to to remind the Government to make the comparison with neighboring Italy and with International Organizations more incisive in order to allow all traffic to move freely and not only in Italy “.
