Corona: Salzburg Governor positive – SALZBURG24
The country announced on Sunday.
Haslauer positive despite two vaccinations
Haslauer, who had been vaccinated twice, did a PCR test on Sunday after slight symptoms, and this was positive, according to one country. He is in self-isolation and will carry out official business from home until further notice.
Contact tracing is in progress
All contacts of the governor in the 48 hours before the onset of symptoms had already been notified. These include no members of the government, MPs or employees, since Haslauer traveled privately on Friday and Saturday. Contact tracing is running.
Infections among SPÖ and ÖVP politicians
The SPÖ announced in the morning that antigen rapid tests were positive for SPÖ state party chairman David Egger, state manager Gerald Forcher and state parliament member Hans Ganitzer. In the afternoon, the People’s Party reported that its MP Wolfgang Pfeifenberger had also tested positive.
PCR results pending
The three SPÖ representatives had to contact the health authority immediately, it said in a broadcast. The results of the officially ordered PCR tests are not yet available. But the rapid tests were positive and the person affected would have mild symptoms, i.e. the SPÖ, which is based on an infection and suspected through breakthroughs in vaccination.
Corona autumn in the Salzburg ÖVP
There is also a corona case in the ÖVP: Pfeifenberger developed symptoms on Sunday night. After a self-test was positive, he did a PCR test in the Tamsweg hospital – also positive, reported club chairman Wolfgang Mayer of the APA. Pfeifenberger has actively informed the authorities and his contacts and has gone into self-isolation.
More measures at the state parliament session
In view of the upcoming state parliament session on Wednesday, the ÖVP will propose security measures, Mayer announced. He can imagine wearing FFP2 masks and half an occupation in the state parliament as well as masks at the presidential office.
Affected with multiple conference participants
In the past week, those affected took part in several committee meetings, such as the SPÖ district conference on Friday in Lungau with 45 participants or the SPÖ district women’s conference in Tennengau on Saturday with 20 participants.
Infection despite vaccination
In view of his own experiences, Egger appealed to be vaccinated: “A breakthrough vaccination is like a flu-like infection, but an infection without a vaccination can end in the intensive care unit. Of course, everyone has to make the decision for themselves. But I am very happy to be vaccinated to be.” A high vaccination rate is “the safest and best way to overcome this pandemic,” said the Salzburg SPÖ boss.
