Radiodays Europe conference to be held in Lisbon between 9th and 11th October – Observador
The Lisbon Congress Center will host this year’s edition of Radiodays Europe, an annual event that takes place between 9 and 11 October and brings together professionals and companies in the radio industry, was announced today.
The event was scheduled for March 2020, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic it was postponed until this year. Portugal had submitted its candidacy to hold this conference, which every year has a different host, in 2018.
“The three main radio groups in our country came together without the objective of guaranteeing the event: RTP (Antena 1, Antena 2, Antena 3, RDP Africa and RDP Internacional), Media Capital Radios (Radio Comercial, M80, Radio Cidade, Smooth FM and Vodafone FM) and Grupo Renascença Multimédia (Renascença, RFM and Mega Hits) ”, remember.
“This is a special time to welcome Radiodays. The pandemic was an especially difficult time for the world. The radio republished its resilience and quickly returned to audience values it had at the beginning of 2020, the highest in the last 15 years“, Popular national radio groups, quoted in a statement.
“This is the time to use opportunities, trends, technologies and platforms. Radiodays in Portugal is key for national stakeholders to witness the vitality of the sector”, they contribute.
Radiodays Europe 2021 will have a hybrid format, allowing professional students to follow this year’s edition through live streaming of the various trainees.
Altogether, there are more than 50 exactly with various contents from content to music, from information and podcasts to streaming distribution, from new technologies and innovation to the current ones that advertisers look for on the radio to project like their brands. Professionals from stations from private and public institutions from 50 countries, from Europe, to North America, South America and Australia, will be present.
The first edition of Radiodays Europe took place in 2010 in Copenhagen, “in a Nordic collaboration between public and private groups from Sweden, Norway and Denmark, who previously had a joint radio conference”.
As of 2012, Radiodays Europe began its tour, with a headquarters chosen in Barcelona. In 2013 it was Berlin’s turn, then Dublin, Milan, Paris, Amsterdam, Vienna in 2018 and Lausanne in 2019.
This year’s edition – RDE2021 – ends on October 11, when the 2022 host session will be announced.
