The best examples of Belarusian military equipment can be seen at Army-2021. Widely represented means of communication, military telecommunications, radar equipment, unmanned aerial vehicles. Experts are called in to electronic warfare systems, including those designed to combat drones.

One of the stars of the forum in Russia is the Volat heavy armored personnel carrier MZKT-690003 (BTR-V2). It was first shown at the MILEX-2021 military-technical salon, held in June in Minsk. Now – the premiere in Russia.

“Volat” is a trade mark of the Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant. In the Belarusian language, this word means – a hero. And all MZKT machines in terms of their size and power have always been under the name. BTR-V2 was no exception.

It is an 8×8 all-wheel drive armored combat vehicle weighing 19,900 kg. The APC is floating, equipped with two water-jet propellers, providing a speed on the water up to 10 km / h. On land, this heavy armored personnel carrier develops a speed of up to 100 km / h.

The main task of the armored personnel carrier is the delivery of personnel to the places of hostilities. At the same time, he is capable of serious fire support to units in battle, including in the fight against tanks. The BTR-V2 is armed with a combat module from the BMP-2, which includes a 30-mm 2A42 automatic cannon, a 7.62 PKT machine gun paired with it and an anti-tank guided missile launcher. The undoubted advantage of the BTR-V2 over all existing other armored personnel carriers, including Russian ones, was the original layout of the power compartment. The engine and hydromechanical transmission are located on a single subframe. This makes it possible to dismantle the power unit with all systems without draining the working fluids in a very short time. This is very important in a military environment.

Of course, those who represent the BTR-V2 at Army 2021 do not expect the Russian Armed Forces to be immediately interested in them. Now, the Russian heavy armored personnel carrier “Boomerang”, which is similar in characteristics, is being promoted into their arsenals.
