Jean Lucas elected Monegasque MVP against Lens on the AS Monaco App
Author of a solid performance despite the defeat of the Red and White against Lens (2-0), the Brazilian midfielder weighed in the heart of the game and was therefore elected MVP by Monegasque fans on the AS Monaco App .
A frustrating defeat but grounds for hope. All was not lost this Saturday against Racing Club de Lens at Stade Louis-II, despite the final result (2-0). Among the positive points on the AS Monaco side, we will indeed remember the good performance of Jean Lucas, holder for the third time in a row in Ligue 1 with Aurélien Tchouameni in the middle. Very available in the midfield, the Brazilian was the third player to touch the leather the most in this meeting (87 balls).
Big contribution in the midfield and in front of the lensoise surface
Arrived at the beginning of August in the Principality, the latter also tried his luck at the entrance to the northern area, since it was he who attempted the most shots against Jean-Louis Leca (3 including one on target ). Including this shot deflected for a corner at the edge of the last quarter of an hour (70th). He was also the source of two passes giving rise to Monegasque attempts, as much as Ruben Aguilar. Very clean also in transmissions, he totaled over 92% of successful passes, among some that managed to break the opposing lines.

Valuable in recovery
He notably finds Sofiane Diop in the Lensoise area in additional time of the first period (45 + 4). Precious in the creation and the start of the actions, Jean Lucas was also invaluable in the recovery. Well supported by Aurélien Tchouameni, best recuperator in Ligue 1 in 2021, who scratched 9 balls, the Brazilian also went to seek 11 in the opposing feet. Good news from the perspective of the sequence of competitions, knowing that Niko Kovac can count on four high-level recuperating midfielders, with Youssouf Fofana and Eliot Matazo.
To face Shakhtar Donetsk in Kharkiv this Wednesday (kick off 9 p.m.), Jean Lucas therefore inherits the MVP title against Lens, who has recovered 21% of Monegasque fans on the AS App. He is just ahead of his middle friend, Aurélien Tchouameni (18%), as well as Gelson Martins and Aleksandr Golovin (12%), also cited.
