Ten young Germans beaten up and injured by attackers
Raids in Austria: Two groups from Bavaria were out and about in Salzburg at night when they were attacked and injured separately from each other. The investigation is difficult for the police.
A total of ten Germans were injured by strangers during the nightly celebrations in Salzburg. Two groups of young night owls were attacked independently of each other on Friday after midnight, reported the police in the city on the Austrian-Bavarian border.
At around two o’clock, a group of young adults from Bavaria from the Pfaffenhofen district was attacked by at least 15 men on the promenade along the Salzach. Seven Germans were injured by punching them in the face. Previously, three Germans aged 17 and 18 had been beaten by a group of six on the same promenade. The police could not provide any information about the exact origin of this teenager.
The investigations into the course of the incidents and the perpetrators are difficult because both German groups were drunk and therefore could not give precise information, said a police spokeswoman for the German press agency. There is currently no evidence that the attacks were preceded by a dispute. Also, for the time being, no connection is known between the two groups of perpetrators.
