A number of local businesses have joined forces in an effort to recruit members the Tólfan supporters’ club to Paris on Sunday before Iceland’s match against France.
Earlier this week, local media reported that no member of the Twelve had managed to secure tickets for the game on Sunday or a seat on any flight from Iceland to Paris. However, with some group effort, 22 members of the supporters club will now be able to attend The game.

“It is clear that the support of the fans is extremely important for the team. That’s why we wanted to lend a helping hand,” said Bjarni Ákason, who works at Epli, one of the companies that came to Tolfuna’s aid.
Ólafur Hand from Eimskip, another company that supports Tólfuna, told Vísi: “Playing the home team is challenging enough. That is why it is important that Iceland gets all the support it can get. The team needs the energy that Tólfan brings to the field.”
Icelandic fans have received almost as much attention as the national team, particularly for what has become known as the “Viking war cry”.
In an interview with Vísi, the founder of Tólfunn, Styrmir Gíslason, said he was overwhelmed by the support. “It’s been absolutely crazy. At first none of us were going to Paris, now 22 of us are going to the game.”
