San Marino. Shock in the majority: Mis enters. The liberal-socialist project within NPR is born
Rossano Fabbri and the Mis enter the majority and with some of the councilors of Noi per la Repubblica they launch the liberal-socialist project, the embryo of a future single list or party.
The announcement, after weeks (if not months) of gestation, was made this morning at a press conference by the protagonists: Alexander Left-handed, GianNicola Berti, Denise Bronzetti, Rossano Fabbri. Excused absences James Simoncini and His Excellency Maria Luisa Berti.
GianNicola Berti, council group leader of the list, explains that the path was born with the involvement of the entire NPR, but that then “there have been distinctions and brakes from others over time”.
In any case, he specifies that the new political project is born “with no restrictions on anyone“. On the contrary: “It is important to have a plurality of voices and the participation of people because it is the antidote to the power of a few”.
Then he admits: “Some things didn’t work out in NPR and today we are going to create a new organizational model and a new way of acting”.
Also Rossano Blacksmiths he stresses that the project “is not born against anyone, but is open to forces inside and outside the Council”.
The Mis leader then explains his entry into the majority: “We have always positioned ourselves in a constructive way, we have never opposed it regardless. The goal is to bring together different forces in the name of problems that are not easy to solve, and of simplify an all too jagged political framework.
The time has come for politics to reach a synthesis that puts things to do at the center of the debate”.
Alexander Left-handed explains that the one presented is “a political collaboration agreement with advisers from different backgrounds with the intention of giving life to a political project that can shed light, support the majority.
We have tried to spark a debate to open the PS to wider collaboration with the NPR but the response has not been satisfactory for us. Tomorrow we will present a document to the adherents which we hope will be shared with the other comrades”.
Berti then reassures his PSD colleagues: “This project was not born to split and divide, on the contrary. We will continue to support secretaries of state who are NPR representatives like us.”. And he underlines that “also the other part of NPR has followed a path of simplification, with the unification of PSD and Md”.
But out of political jargon, it is clear that relations are not idyllic between the two members of the majority list. Originally, the plan was to bring MIS advisers into the NPR advisory group. But the passage was rejected by the will of the PSD, which in particular did not say it was willing to welcome Councilor Bronzetti back after the 2021 exit.
And so the others launched the parallel project, currently external to the advisory group.
In the political document released to the press after the meeting with journalists, the promoters explain that the “collaboration pact” is “linked, not only to the contingent situation and to the underpinning the current policy framework marked by the alliances between PDCS – RETE – NPR and Motus Liberi and the independent director Denise Bronzetti, but above all by the common perspective.
The agreement was based on two essential premises:
- Intensify the relations between NS, PS and MIS as a priority and fundamental element for any type of future political reflection;
- Recognize the role played by the MIS, by the role of opposition on crucial issues such as Justice. Role of proposal that has contributed to international recognition, in Greece and the Council of Europe, by the Republic of San Marino.
Furthermore, the agreement has as its basis of reference a value base which is identified in liberalism, in reformism, in the experience of San Marino socialism.
Basically, the political project to which the representations intend to draw inspiration corresponds to the coalition of liberal-democratic and reformist forces that has allowed our Republic to achieve important goals for the quality of life of its citizens.
We of San Marino, MIS and the NPR – PS Councilors will undertake to hit the following objectives:
– Create a new open political subject to all women and men who identify with the values of the liberal, secular State, in the Declaration of Fundamental Rights of San Marino and in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
– Support the new path started in the field of Justiceanchoring it to a vision based on guaranteed values. Firmly believing that justice should be equal, just and speedy for all citizens;
– Support innovationpromoting the constant adaptation of individual skills;
– Support the job that must be created, protected and encouraged, just as economic initiative and business must be supported as an essential tool for growth;
– Giving value to culture, knowledge and skills, as tools for building a stronger and freer society;
– Center the environmental careof our landscape and natural heritage, a model of sustainable development, which is based on the responsible use of technology and contrasts the culture of waste;
– Proudly reclaiming the San Marino identity in the wake of the European intention process, in the awareness that to make the country stronger, a more cohesive Europe is needed.
It is the intention of the representatives of the three political forces to strengthen the path, keeping comparison with PSD-MDaimed at the constitution of a force of liberal inspiration, moderate and adhering to the vision of reformist socialism.
The election race has begun.
