questioned the 4 suspects, answer for manslaughter
The investigation by the Rimini judiciary into the death of the 78-year-old pensioner Attilio Gambettiresident in Reggio Emilia, fell off the bike while crossing Piazza Malatesta, affected by one of the most important redevelopments of the Municipality of Rimini in 2021. The Prosecutor questioned the four suspects, who, through their lawyers, filed their defense briefs, a prelude to an imminent closure of the investigation. The provisional charge is that of manslaughter assumed by the deputy prosecutor Paul Gengarelli.
The suspects, as is known, are the manager of public works, defended by the lawyer Moreno Maresi, the construction manager defended by the lawyer Maurice Ghinelli, the head of control and safety, all the employees of the Municipality of Rimini as well as the legal representative of the temporary consortium of companies that had carried out the contracted work, defended by lawyers Massimiliano Cornacchia and Gilberto Gianni. The entire investigation revolves around who was actually responsible for that specific part of the square, already open to the public and therefore technically no longer a construction site, where the pensioner fell on his bicycle. The timing of the partial tests, of parts of the square carried out before the inauguration and the general one that arrived a couple of months ago, will also be important.
