Slovakia will be a battery powerhouse. The line for their production is already heading to us. It covers 24 thousand kilometers and weighs 308 tons
The Slovak company InBat, which develops and manufactures innovative batteries for electric vehicles, announces a number of news and is approaching its shift in the start of production in Slovakia as well. Just recently, the company announced that the battery production line from the Chinese company Wuxi Lead has been successfully validated, packed and ready to move to Slovakia, specifically to Voderady. It was made directly to the needs of InoBat.

“We started moving the line from China to Slovakia at the end of November last year. It should arrive in Voderady in the first quarter of this year. It is currently being transported by ship from Shanghai to Hamburg, or will travel by rail to Slovakia,” says Peter Dubovský, director of the Voderady site at InoBat. “Moving the production line, as well as its assembly in Voderady, nevertheless represent a very demanding logistical process,” adds Dubovský
Despite this, however, InoBat manages to fulfill the individual steps related to the transfer of the line according to the predetermined time schedule. The transfer itself includes a number of necessary steps, from loading at the factory, through transport to the port, allocation of lines, to documentation, embarkation, disembarkation and assembly itself. The production line will travel a total of 24,168 kilometers by ship, road and rail transport.
“The production line weighs up to 308,000 kg, while it is transported in 44 containers, of which 19 are giga containers. The shipment also contains 20 technologies, which are packed together with the production line in 274 special wooden boxes. Each part of the technology must be delivered from China in a precisely defined sequence and according to precise and detailed conditions. So this is a demanding logistical mission, on which a large team of InoBat and Wuxi Lead have been working for several months,” Peter Dubovský zooms in further.
He also adds that even the production of the lines in China was overseen all the time by the InoBat team of professionals, as well as external partners and advisors. “Our colleagues were in China for 4 months. At the same time, in Voderady, we have already welcomed experts from Wuxi Lead, who together with our experts will participate in putting the line into operation, and it will not be needed either. We will have up to 60 experts and engineers from Wuxi Lead here, and they will stay with us until the successful launch of the line.” concludes Dubovský.
Immediately after the arrival of the production line in Voderady, its installation will take place under special and strict conditions. It will be installed in February, while trial production should take place in March, April. Despite the fact that the line is not yet in Voderady, InoBat already has several paying customers and generates income. “For now, we are producing batteries at partners in Taiwan, we will move the production lines to Voderady. Tentatively, we have already reserved the entire production capacity until the end of 2023,” adds Pavol Krokoš, executive director of InoBat.
He also added that InoBat currently has signed contracts with two key customers: Lilium and Impact Clean Power Technology (ICPT). “These contracts amount to 575 million euros for the next 5 years, which is about 3 GWh,” concludes.
