EU Vice-President in San Marino: Association Agreement by 2023
Rome, 20 January (askanews) – “The Association Agreement will be among the largest offered by the EU to external partners. In this way, San Marino would strengthen its political and economic weight, also thanks to the size of the EU single market, which is important globally”. So the Vice-President of the European Commission, Maros Sefcovic, today in San Marino as head of negotiations on the Association Agreement of the European Union with San Marino, Andorra and Monaco. At the press conference at the end of the meeting with the members of the Commission Foreign Affairs, Vice-President Sefcovic explained that “Last year’s six rounds of talks have made good progress, which makes me believe that our common goal – to conclude the negotiations in the second half of this year – is ambitious but realistic”. The Vice-President met the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Economic Cooperation and Telecommunications of San Marino, Luca Beccari and the ministries who negotiated the negotiations, as well as the captains-regents, Maria Luisa Berti and Manuel Ciavatta. In the afternoon he will meet San Marino business associations and trade unions.
