San Marino. The Des at the center of the debate in the Great and General Council
In the afternoon, the council debate on the draft law in first reading, “Regulation of the Economic District with Special Taxation”, presented by the Secretary of State for Finance and the Budget, Marco Gatti, continued and concluded.
The Secretary himself, in response to the long debate, welcomes many ideas and reflections advanced in the Chamber, believing that some “can also be easily implemented to improve the PDL”. He therefore responds to the observations made. “The construction of our Des- he explains- aims to redevelop the area and to have more beds and services that can ensure that people stay more time in our country and so that they pour wealth here”.
It’s still; “It is not the solution to all the problems – recognized – it can certainly give answers to the criticisms we have, which are those of territorial redevelopment and services that have never been built”. To the doubts raised on non-domiciled tax residence, he replies by listing the countries that have it in their legal system: Cyprus, Malta, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Italy, Greece and Spain. This means that “if built in a certain way – he underlines – it does not create problems with Europe”. Lastly, SDS Gatti confirms its willingness to work around the text with the political forces to improve it.
