Plastic waste: Annoyance about repeated collection
business
Yellow bags and yellow bins in Salzburg are overflowing – at least in the southern parts of the city. And more and more residents are wondering when the plastic waste will finally be picked up. Since January 1st, new rules about ingredients and new dates for collection have been in force.
The sacks are mostly picked up every two weeks – and the bins are emptied. But that doesn’t work everywhere, according to the Salzburg city waste service. In Aigen or around Moosstraße, there is only one pick-up per month.
Walter Galehr from the waste service says that the sacks are now “already rolling around” there: “If there are major problems, we will initially send an extra team there.”
City only service providers for others
However, the collection dates have also changed. These have been the same for 18 years so far. They can no longer be found on the collection plan that is sent to households by post, but only on the Internet: “We are a service provider for the Altstoff Recycling Austria collection system. For these we carry out the collection. That is why new frameworks were put in place.”
If you have problems with the Internet, you can also contact the Salzburg City Waste Management Service at any time. The pick-up plan can also be printed out on request.
