Criminal investigation initiated against Pastor Jäger – Liechtenstein
VADUZ – The Princely High Court has initiated a criminal investigation against the former Ruggell pastor Thomas Jäger. This because of the suspicion of the crime of attempted sexual abuse of minors.
Jäger is accused of having attempted a sexual act on an underage girl on October 24, 2019 in the vicarage in Ruggell. The Supreme Court has not released any further details to protect the girl’s privacy. The investigating magistrate of the Princely Regional Court will lead the investigation.
The parents of the girl concerned had submitted an application for this. The public prosecutor’s office had discontinued the proceedings on this point. If this is the case, the victim is entitled to submit a so-called continuation application (subsidiary application) and thus to demand the continuation of the proceedings. The Princely Supreme Court decides on this application. If there are several reasons, it can grant the request. Ordinary legal remedies are then no longer possible.
It is the presumption of innocence.
Note: The case against Jäger on suspicion of the offense of pornographic depiction of minors is pending still at the Princely District Court.
